## Notes

The team reviewed the latest hub prototype, which is now reliably pairing with Zigbee lights, Wi-Fi plugs, and two supported smart locks. Matter device onboarding is functional but still inconsistent when devices have previously been paired with another controller.

Luis noted that the current firmware build has reduced device discovery time from roughly 40 seconds to under 15 seconds in most test cases. QA is still seeing intermittent failures after hub reboot, especially when more than 30 devices are connected.

Priya shared progress on the mobile app setup flow. The new room assignment screen tested well internally, but error messages during failed pairing still need to be clearer. Jordan recommended replacing generic failure text with device-specific troubleshooting steps.

The group agreed that core automations should continue running locally when internet access is unavailable. Ethan confirmed that cloud services will still be used for remote access, account sync, firmware update checks, and optional analytics, but not for basic rule execution.

Privacy requirements were reviewed. The hub will retain event history locally for 30 days by default, with an option for users to disable history entirely. Diagnostic uploads will require explicit user consent.

## Decisions

- Zigbee lights, smart plugs, smart locks, and Matter switches are the priority device categories for beta.
- Local automation execution is required for launch.
- Remote access will be optional and disabled until the user signs in.
- Event history retention will default to 30 days.
- Diagnostic logs will not be uploaded automatically.
- The beta target remains early September, pending stability improvements.
