From: Maya Chen To: Riverside Neighbourhood Association Subject: HarbourMesh service expansion and rooftop relay volunteers Date: Fri, 31 Jul 2026 10:18:00 -0400 Hi everyone, A quick update on HarbourMesh, the community-run mesh-network ISP serving Riverside and the east waterfront. We added three relay nodes this month, bringing reliable coverage to most homes between Broadview Avenue and the rail corridor. Members are currently seeing typical evening speeds of 80–120 Mbps, although performance can vary during heavy rain or when a rooftop node loses power. We’re looking for two more buildings near Gerrard Street that can host small rooftop antennas. The equipment is about the size of a hardcover book, uses less than 15 watts, and would be installed and maintained by our volunteers at no cost to the host. Suitable sites need a clear line of sight toward either the library or the Riverdale co-op. Our residential plan remains $35 per month, with a pay-what-you-can option available privately. There are no contracts or installation fees. If your building is interested in hosting a relay, or if you’d like to check whether your address is in the current service area, please reply with the nearest intersection.
