Subject: Saturday Morning Bird Survey Details

Hello everyone,

Thank you for signing up for this month's citizen-science bird survey. We’ll meet at the east entrance of Willow Marsh Reserve at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 8. The survey should take about two hours.

Please bring binoculars if you have them, along with water, sun protection, and a pencil. We’ll provide printed checklists and divide into small groups so that new volunteers can work with experienced observers. Record every species you can confidently identify, including birds seen or heard, but avoid counting the same individual twice.

If heavy rain or thunderstorms are expected, I’ll send a cancellation notice by 5:30 a.m. Survey results will be submitted to the regional biodiversity database and used to track changes in local bird populations.
