Hello everyone,

Thank you for signing up for this weekend's citizen-science bird survey at Cedar Marsh. We will meet at the east parking lot at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, and divide into small groups to cover the wetland, meadow, and woodland routes.

Please bring binoculars if you have them, weather-appropriate clothing, water, and a pencil. Printed checklists and route maps will be provided. You do not need to be an expert birder—each group will include at least one experienced observer, and sightings based on calls alone should be recorded only when the observer is confident of the identification.

The survey should finish by 9:30 a.m. If heavy rain or thunderstorms are expected, I will send a cancellation notice by 5:45 a.m.

Your observations will contribute to our annual record of local breeding birds and help track changes in the marsh habitat over time.
