## Discussion Notes

The team reviewed the latest hub prototype running firmware version 0.8.3. Basic device discovery, local control, and cloud synchronization are working in the test environment. Zigbee and Wi-Fi device pairing are stable in most cases, but Matter device support still has intermittent timeout issues during commissioning.

Customer Support shared that early testers were confused by the distinction between local automations and cloud-backed routines. UX proposed simplifying the app language by using “Runs at home” for local automations and “Requires internet” only where necessary.

Firmware confirmed that local control should continue working during an internet outage for lights, plugs, thermostats, and sensors already paired to the hub. Cloud-dependent features such as remote access, voice assistant sync, and push notifications will be unavailable until connectivity returns.

QA noted that recovery after power loss needs more testing, especially when multiple devices attempt to reconnect at once. The current retry logic can delay device availability for up to five minutes in larger homes.

- Launch device support will include lights, plugs, thermostats, motion sensors, contact sensors, and basic scenes.
- Matter support will remain in beta for launch unless commissioning success rate reaches 95% in the next regression cycle.
- The mobile app will prioritize local setup and control before prompting users to create or sign in to a cloud account.
- Offline mode will be treated as a launch requirement, not a post-launch enhancement.
- Automation rules will clearly indicate whether they run locally or depend on cloud services.
