[09:16] Leo (Bird Survey Support): No. Only the field you edit will change. Your location, start time, survey duration, and other species records will remain the same.

[09:17] Maya (Participant): Great, I corrected it to 2. There’s also a warning beside “Eastern Phoebe” saying it’s unusual for the date. Did I do something wrong?

[09:18] Leo (Bird Survey Support): Not necessarily. The warning means the sighting is uncommon in your region at this time of year. If you’re confident in the identification, keep the record and add details about what you saw or heard.

[09:19] Maya (Participant): I heard the “fee-bee” call several times and saw the bird pumping its tail near the footbridge.

[09:20] Leo (Bird Survey Support): That’s useful documentation. Add those notes to the species record. If you took a photo or audio recording, you can attach that too, but it isn’t required.

[09:21] Maya (Participant): Done. One more question: I walked part of the trail with my partner. Should we both submit the same birds?

[09:22] Leo (Bird Survey Support): If you surveyed together, please submit one shared checklist and add your partner as an observer. Separate checklists could make the same birds appear to have been counted twice.

[09:23] Maya (Participant): Can I add them after submitting?

[09:23] Leo (Bird Survey Support): Yes. Open the checklist again, select “Manage observers,” and enter the email address linked to their survey account.

[09:25] Maya (Participant): Added. It now says “Invitation pending.”

[09:25] Leo (Bird Survey Support): Perfect. Once your partner accepts, the checklist will appear in both accounts while remaining a single survey record.
