From: Lena Ortiz To: Mark Feldman Subject: Revised stop spacing notes for Route 18 corridor review Date: Tue, 14 Jul 2026 09:18:42 -0400 Mark, I finished the field notes from yesterday's Route 18 ride-along and updated the stop spacing table for the corridor review packet. The main issue is still the cluster between Maple and 6th. We have four stops within roughly 900 feet, but the boarding counts only justify keeping two of them if we are serious about improving run time. I recommend we retain Maple/4th for the senior apartments and Oak/6th for the transfer to Route 7, then remove the mid-block stop by the pharmacy driveway. I also added a short note about the shelter request at Pine Street. The location meets the ridership threshold, but Public Works flagged a sidewalk clearance problem. We may need to shift the pole about 20 feet east before the shelter vendor can use the standard pad. Can you review the attached comments before I send the packet to the Transportation Advisory Committee this afternoon? Thanks, Lena > From: Mark Feldman > Sent: Monday, July 13, 2026 4:36 PM > Subject: Route 18 corridor review > > Please make sure the committee packet clearly explains why any proposed stop removals are paired with accessibility upgrades. The last public meeting made it clear that residents are mostly concerned about walking distance, not travel time.
