## Discussion Notes

- The team agreed that core automations must continue running during an internet outage. Remote access, voice-assistant integrations, and firmware downloads will still require cloud connectivity.
- The first release will support Matter, Thread, Zigbee, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth Low Energy. Z-Wave support will be evaluated after launch because adding it now would affect hardware certification and the beta schedule.
- Users need clearer visibility into which data remains local and which data is sent to cloud services. The mobile app should present this information during setup and in privacy settings.
- Security testing identified no critical issues. Two medium-severity findings remain: insufficient rate limiting on local pairing attempts and overly detailed authentication error messages.
- Customer support requested diagnostic logs that users can export voluntarily. Logs must exclude automation names, Wi-Fi credentials, camera content, and precise location data.
- The beta will target 100 households with a mix of apartments and detached homes. At least 20 participants should already use products from three or more device brands.

## Decisions

- Core automations, schedules, and sensor-triggered routines will execute locally.
- Launch protocol support will include Matter, Thread, Zigbee, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth Low Energy.
- Z-Wave support is deferred until after the initial release.
