From: Lena Ortiz To: Ridgefield Mesh Volunteers Subject: North Hill sector upgrade and new household installs Date: Sat, 11 Jul 2026 09:42:17 -0400 Hi everyone, Quick update on the community mesh ISP work this week. The North Hill sector is now running on the new 60 GHz backhaul with 5 GHz failover. We are seeing 740-820 Mbps real throughput from the library roof to the water tower, and latency to the co-op gateway is back under 6 ms. Please keep an eye on it during tonight's rain since that will be the first real weather test. We also have four new household installs scheduled for Sunday: - 10:00 AM: 44 Birch Lane - 11:30 AM: 18 Calder Street - 1:00 PM: 302 East Union - 3:00 PM: 9 Miller Court I can bring the spare radios, cable, and mounts. We still need one person with ladder experience and one person who can help with indoor router setup and the sliding-scale membership paperwork. The biggest blocker right now is power at the Maple Street relay. The battery is holding, but the charge controller is reporting low input from the panel. If anyone is near there this afternoon, please check whether the panel has been shaded by the new tree growth.
