From: Maya Chen To: Storage Engineering Subject: Follow-up on elevated write latency in the KV cluster Date: Fri, 31 Jul 2026 14:18:00 -0400 Hi team, We traced this morning’s increase in p99 write latency to compaction pressure on three nodes in the us-east cluster. Replication remained healthy, and we did not observe any lost or inconsistent keys. We’ve reduced the compaction concurrency and moved two hot partitions to nodes with more available I/O capacity. Latency is back within the normal range, but please avoid large backfills until tomorrow’s maintenance window. I’ll post the incident timeline and proposed partition-balancing changes after the afternoon review. Thanks, Maya
