Hello everyone,

Thank you for signing up for this weekend's citizen-science bird survey. We will meet at 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, at the east entrance to Colonel Samuel Smith Park. The survey should take about two hours.

Please bring binoculars if you have them, a pencil, water, and clothing suitable for the weather. We will divide into small groups and record each species we see or hear, along with approximate numbers and habitat notes. New volunteers are very welcome; no previous birding experience is required.

If heavy rain or thunderstorms are forecast, I will send a cancellation notice by 5:45 a.m. Otherwise, assume the survey is going ahead.
